Pavilion Questionnaire

July 2010

The Parish Council has identified (with other members of the Community) a need to develop the Pavilion on the playing field at Bacton. This is structurally sound but is badly in need of renovating. Parish Councillors have personally recently undertaken a temporary refurbishment of the Pavilion in order to enable it to be used by the Community.

Currently the BLOCK (Lego) Club operates from here on a Saturday morning, along with Multisports, the Bowls Club and Cricket Club. Bacton School has recently been awarded Primary status which will enable your children to stay in the same school until year 6 and then, they will then go on to High School.

A need has been identified for a direct link between a Playgroup and Bacton School. Strong representation from the Community has been made that the there is a need for a Playgroup in Bacton to help support the School. A purpose built facility with a dedicated outside play area would allow for the Playgroup to be connected to the School, enabling good communication, easy access and allow for wrap around care to be provided.

There is also a need for a Youth Club and Sports Hall.

The Parish Council is developing a project to expand the current Pavilion to encompass a facility for a Playgroup, Youth Club and Sports Hall. Space will also be allocated to the Bowls Club and Cricket Club for their use and ancillary storage items.

The project will involve considerable commitment and expense.
Before we undertake it we want to make sure that it has the support of the communities which we serve. We need as many responses as possible by MONDAY AUGUST 16th 2010.
